MENDON: Loretta Marie (DeSimone) Stewart, 83, died peacefully and comfortably on Thursday, September 24, 2015 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Boston on July 29, 1932 the daughter of the late Joseph DeSimone, Sr. and Rose (Spizio) DeSimone.
Loretta was the wife of the late Harry C.W. Stewart who died on February 14, 1995.
She was the devoted and loving mother of Harry C.W. Stewart, Jr. and his wife Lynda of Bellingham; Scott B. Stewart and his wife Mary-Beth of Mendon; David E. Stewart and his wife Carol of Mendon and Duncan L. Stewart and his wife Kara of Mendon. She was the sister of Virginia Muccini of Upton and Joseph DeSimone, Jr. of Sebring, FL. Also survived by ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one niece and five nephews.
Loretta spent her formative years in Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1950. She had resided in Natick for over 32 years before moving to Mendon in 1986.
In her earlier years, she was associated with Abbott Laboratories and with Safety Insurance and Commerce Insurance. She loved to sew, knit and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She loved to be outside and spent many hours in her garden at her residence in Mendon. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her family and enjoyed the time spent with them.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to her funeral service at 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Stewart-McEnroy family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
