Jean Fronko Morgan, 91, of Mystic, Connecticut, passed away on September 24, 2015, at the Avalon Health Care Center. The daughter of Ethel Morrow Sharp and George Frater Sharp, she was born on March 26, 1924, in Washington, Pennsylvania. She married Edward G. Fronko in June, 1945.
Jean attended Westminster College and Washington Seminary. She was an active volunteer throughout her life. While living in Schenectady, N.Y., she served on the diaconates of the Union Presbyterian and First Reformed Churches, was a member of the boards of the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra Auxiliary, the Boys and Girls Club and the Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center. Jean was a member of the Mohawk Golf Club, the Garden Club, the First Reformed Church Bell Choir, P.E.O., and the Junior League.
She and George were married in November, 1987, and soon thereafter they retired to Beaufort, South Carolina. Jean served on the Pastoral Care Committee and was a Stephen Minister at the Sea Island Presbyterian Church. She was also on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, George F. Sharp Jr., her half- sister Gladys Sharp and her first husband, Edward G. Fronko. Jean is survived by her husband, George Bennett Morgan and daughters Karen Meeks (Jeffrey) and Kathleen Rafsky (Gary); stepchildren Todd (Dana) Morgan, Dean (Pam) Morgan and Lisa (David) Gubrud; grandchildren Andrew and Sarah Meeks, Amanda Schmidt, Devin Dwyer, Adam Rafsky, Justin, Jennifer and Rebecca Morgan and Laura, Amy and Scott Gubrud. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Evan James, Elizabeth Devin and Caroline Jean Schmidt.
There will be a memorial service for Jean on Sunday, October 18 at 12:00 PM in Mystic, Connecticut at the StoneRidge Retirement Community. Interment will be private.
