Richard C. Shannon, 78, of Medway, died, Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Sally R. (Brauneis) Shannon since 1965.
Born in Milford on September 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Martin and Lillian (Balcom) Shannon.
Mr. Shannon was a lifelong resident of Medway and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War.
Before his retirement in 2003, Mr. Shannon worked as a machinist at Ralphco in Worcester for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Tammy Fitzpatrick and her husband Gary of Plainfield, Connecticut, Betty Trainor and her husband Daniel of Hartwell, Georgia and Richard Shannon of Medway, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He is also survived by a brother Robert Shannon and his wife Lois of Milford and Alice Tingley of Medway.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, September 30 at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
