John P. McCoole, 92, of Westborough, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Beaumont Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite E. (Feran) McCoole who died in 2012.
Born in Boston on April 16, 1923, he was the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth J. (Driscoll) McCoole.
Mr. McCoole was a resident of Westborough for the past 4 years and formerly resided in Medway.
He proudly served in the Army during WWII.
Before his retirement, Mr. McCoole worked as an Assistant Clerk Magistrate at Boston Municipal Court.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and served as a Eucharistic minister.
Mr. McCoole was an avid New England sports fan.
He is survived by his son John P. McCoole, Jr. and his wife Viviane of Attleboro and his daughter Maryanne Mihaiu and her husband John of Westborough.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Timothy and Christopher McCoole and Gregory, Matthew and Michelle Mihaiu and a brother Alfred McCoole and his wife Mary of Mashpee, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Eleanor Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Saturday, October 3 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m.
