Eleanor M. (Oliveira) Casey, age 84, of Somerset, passed away on Friday September 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Raymond W. Casey Jr. Born in Fall River she was the daughter of the late Cora (Gosson) Oliveira.
Eleanor was a seamstress for the garment industry and the remainder of her years she spent as a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to read many novels as well as taking many trips with her husband. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to share her inner kindness and human compassion for the most unfortunate in life. Her heart was larger than life itself.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Susan Collins of Somerset, Debra Carvalho (husband Joseph) of Westport, Raymond Casey III (wife Deborah) and William Casey (wife Jocelyn) both of Somerset, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Thomas C. Collins and grandmother of Kristopher S. Collins.
Her private funeral arrangements will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA but friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, Somerset on Tuesday 10:00 A.M. Interment in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Somerset.
