Obituary

Margaret (Shearer) Morley, 103, passed away September 21 in the Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was the wife of the late Merle E. Morley who died in 1982.
Born in Thomaston, Connecticut, September 5, 1912, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Milton) Shearer, Mrs. Morley had grown up in Thomaston and had been a long-time Franklin resident.
She was a 1929 graduate of Thomaston High School. She also had attended Bryant and Stratton College (now Bryant University) where she earned a degree in Secretarial Science in 1932, graduating first in her class.
Mrs. Morley had worked for many years as a secretary at Parmenter Red, Inc. in Franklin and later at Dean Academy until her retirement.
Margaret had been a member of the Eastern Star and the Lady Rebekah’s. She enjoyed watching TV, especially hockey and the Boston Red Sox. She was an avid fan of TV game shows.
She is survived by her children, Dean S. Fish, Sr. and his wife Linda of Franklin and her daughter, Louise Fish Johnson and her husband, Thomas of Pluckemin, New Jersey.
She also is survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Christina, William, John, Robert and Helen.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street. Franklin at 1:30p.m.
Interment will be in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from Noon – 1:30 p.m.
