Clifford “Scott” Cagle, 49, of Mt. Olive, Alabama, died Friday, September 18, 2015, at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, September 20, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. His uncle, Dr. G.S. McIntyre, Jr., will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Scott was born August 16, 1966, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Barbara McIntyre Cagle and the late Clifford Leon Cagle. A 1984 graduate of Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Alabama. While in Tuscaloosa, he was a member of ATO. He worked in IT for Source Medical Solutions. Scott was an avid gun enthusiast and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed listening to old rock music as well as playing music on keyboard, drums, and guitar. He loved doing yard work and kept an immaculate yard. Scott loved his fur babies and will be greatly missed by his cats: Nibbler, Sweetkins, Lenny, Cleo, Jethro, Jebus, and Miss Priss. He was passionate about Alabama football….ROLL TIDE. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christy Holt Cagle of Mt. Olive, Alabama; a daughter, Cortney Cagle of Adamsville, Alabama; a grandson, Jackson Gober; his mother, Barbara McIntyre Cagle of Fitzgerald; a sister, Cathy Cagle Reese of Jacksonville, Florida; a nephew, Brady Mims as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Garlan & Audie McIntyre and Earnet & Lillian Cagle.
