East Bridgewater – Donald “Don” Louis Brems, age 77 of East Bridgewater died Wednesday September 16, after a yearlong illness, in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Don was born in Boston and raised in Roslindale; he was the son of the late Louis and Florence (Lyn) Brems. He was a graduate of Roslindale High School and the Peterson School of Engineering. He was a retiree of MIT and in later years worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was the “dearest” devoted and loving husband to his wife Barbara Brems for thirty-four years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Dawn Willis and her husband Michael of Boxboro, MA and Laurie, David and William Jackson. He is also leaves a loving godson Andrew Garfield and thirteen grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Don lived “one day at a time” in recovery for the last forty-six years.
His services will be held Wednesday September 23 at 10:00 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John Church, 210 Central Street, East Bridgewater. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday September 22 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
