Robert E. "Bob" Music, was born on October 21, 1921, in Burbank, and passed away at home in Ojai on September 15, 2015.
Mr. Music has been an Ojai resident since 1957. Coming to Ojai during the construction of Casitas Dam, pipelines, and pump plants. Later Bob became the Superintendent for Pipeline Construction company, of Los Angeles.
Upon Completion of Casitas Dam, Bob was hired by the Casitas Municipal Water District as Operations and Maintenance Superintendent and held that position until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement from the water district, Bob was self-employed as a consultant and construction estimator in Ventura County and overseas.
Mr. Music was a Charter and lifetime member of the Ojai Optimist Club, holding various offices including President. He was also a member of the Ojai Valley Moose Lodge. He was a member of the American Legion. He served in the Army during World War II, including being in the European Theatre.
Preceded in death by his wife Claire M. Music, who passed away in July 2004; brother John Music and sister Elna Newfield.
Survived by Sister, Dona Arnold of Orcutt, CA; Step-daughter, Margaret Nesby ; Stepsons Neil Tardiff, Kevin Tardiff and wife Teri; Step grandchildren, Heather Keller and husband Jim; Tyrone Treese and wife Alisha; Jeremy Tardiff, Dustin Tardiff and wife Tarrah; Tyler Nesby, Evan Nesby and wife Miranda; and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
