Obituary

NATICK: Manuel J. Comettant, age 85, a Natick resident since 1998, died with his devoted family at his side on Tuesday afternoon, September 15, 2015, at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick. He had been the loving husband of the late Tula (Vivar) Comettant.

Born, raised and educated in Callao, Peru, Manuel was a son of the late Benjamin and Teofila (Esquerre) Comettant. He immigrated to New York City where he and Tula raised their son, Ruben. After nearly thirty years with the Allied Maintenance Union, Manuel retired and soon thereafter moved with his wife to Natick to be closer to his beloved family.

Manuel was a great Peruvian cook. He loved to spend hours in the kitchen and was never at a loss for someone to share one of his meals with him. He was also remarkably diligent in keeping in touch with family, both in Peru and throughout the United States. Manuel loved to travel, and he and Tula had returned to Peru for visits a number of times. His son and daughter-in-law took him on an extended visit five years ago. Manuel relished time spent with his grandchildren and the feeling was mutual.

Manuel will be remembered as the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend ever – and, he will never die for he will live forever in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.

Predeceased by Tula in 2008; he is survived by a son, Ruben E. Comettant and his wife Eileen of Millis; three grandchildren, Devin, Shaelee, and Lulu; his sister Chela Briceño of Lima, Peru; and a large loving extended family.

His Funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common on Saturday, September 19th at 9:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Visiting hour will be on Friday, 4 – 8PM.
