
Livio Pires (91) of Brockton died September 14th in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Eugenia (Monteiro) Pires.
He was born in Mosterios, Fogo, Cape Verde son of the late Vincent Pina and Claudia Pires and had been a Brockton resident since 1985. While in Cape Verde he was a school teacher. Livio loved to play cards, attend church and enjoyed smoking his pipe.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons Albino and Olivio Pires both of Brockton, 9 daughters, Claudia, Marianna, Isabel, Maria Olivia, Maria DeFatima, Josefa, Balbina, Eugenia and Celina Goncalves Pires all of Brockton, 20 grand and 30 great grandchildren, a sister Maria Fidalga of Brockton.
Funeral Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Friday September 18th at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 11 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation Thursday September 17th from 5-9 pm.
