Paula F. (Giacalone) Curran of Somerville died on Friday, September 11. Born in Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Marianna (Amico) Giacalone. Paula came to the U.S. as a child, living first in Boston's North End before settling in Somerville.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. Curran and the devoted mother of Margaret Sullivan and her husband John of Andover, Marianne Walles and her husband Martin of Somerville. Paula was the loving grandmother of Joseph, Patrick, Kyla and Jack, and the cherished sister of Frances Giglio and her late husband Anthony of Somerville, the late Paul Giacalone and his surviving wife Rosa of Atkinson, NH, the late Anthony Giacalone and his surviving wife Leslee of Sebago, ME. Sister-in-law of Patricia and Timothy Harrington of Somerville, Ellen and Jack Harrington of Peabody, she is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, September 14 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, September 13 from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
