Priscilla R. Murphy, RN, 83, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at Cornerstone at Milford, in Milford, MA.
Born in Madbury, NH, she was a daughter of the late Richard G. and Pearl (Hardy) Hale. She lived in Smithfield for 54 years.
Priscilla was a registered nurse whose career included work at the former Chapin and Providence Lying-In Hospitals, the Herbert Nursing Home and the RI Institute of Mental Health.
An avid reader, her many interests included knitting, cooking, art, travel, watching the New England Patriots and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: John Murphy III and his wife, Anne Marie of Glocester,RI, Priscilla Hickey and her husband, Jim of Bel Air, MD, Susan Desilets and her husband, Rick of Bellingham, MA, and Richard Murphy and his wife, Lisa of Smithfield, RI. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren: Thomas Thibodeau, Collin and Shannon Hickey, Ethan and Chad Desilets, Katherine, Jillian and Patrick Murphy, David and Adam Jaques and her brother, Harry Hale of Rochester, NH. She was the sister of the late Richard Hale, Jr. and William Hale.
Because of her dedication to the medical field, Priscilla has donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at noon in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation hour will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.
