Obituary

Lillian E. (Guaraldi) Courtemanche age 87 of Brockton died Thursday September 10, 2015 at the Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Albert Courtemanche for 65 years. Lillian was born in Bourne, MA and raised in Brockton, the daughter of the late John and Angelina (Zambelli) Guaraldi. A 1945 graduate of Brockton High School, Lillian lived most of her life in Brockton, the last few years at Emmanuel House Residence.

In 2010, Lillian retired from Shaws Supermarket where she had held a variety of administrative and customer-facing positions. Previously, she had been a sales associate at several local bridal and women’s clothing shops.

Lillian enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, photography and making scrap books of their travels. She was also a tremendous correspondent, always sending a hand written note to friends and relatives in the mail.

Lillian had been very active in St. Margaret Church where she was a lector, member of the Parish Council and taught CCD. Previously she was a member of St. Patrick Church and was a member of the Ladies Sodality and Guild.

Lillian will be remembered as a loving, cheerful and happy lady with a huge heart who enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and wide circle of friends and relations.

Lillian leaves her four children, John P. Courtemanche and his wife Denise of Hatfield, MA; Robert L. Courtemanche and his wife Eileen of Pollock Pines, CA; Mary-ann Lovetere and her husband Christopher of Brockton and James W. Courtemanche and his wife Kamala of Lexington. She was the loving grandmother of Melissa and Meredith Courtemanche, Tara Green, John and Emily Vilk, Alexander and Zachary Lovetere, and Katharine and Marc Courtemanche. She was the sister of Edgar “Eddie” Guaraldi of Brockton, Yober “Bert” Guaraldi of So. Easton and the late Yolanda Famularo. She also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-8 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8am
followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church West Bridgewater at 9am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Lillian’s name to the Brockton Visiting Nurse Association, 500 Belmont St. Suite 200, Brockton, MA 02301.
