Obituary

Frank Steigerwald died peacefully at his home in North Andover, Massachusetts on 2 September 2015 following a brief illness. Born 22 February 1932 to Louis and Esther Steigerwald, he was raised in Syracuse, New York.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia (White); the eight children they raised in Syracuse and Cazenovia, New York ? Amy, Jake (Lori), Sarah (Jack), Mary Elizabeth (Afshin), Matthew (Eleanor), Joseph (Sheila), Luke (Kate) and Mark (Melissa); and eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Frank graduated from the Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, New York in 1949, and from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School in 1954.
Frank will be remembered for his service: to his country, as a U.S. Navy Lieutenant from 1954 to 1957 where he served on the U.S.S. Isherwood DD-520 during the Korean war; as a executive at General Motors Fisher Body division in Syracuse, New York over a career that spanned 35 years; to his community as the president of the Cazenovia Youth Hockey Association, a member of the Cazenovia Town Board for over fifteen years, a lector at Saint James Catholic church, a volunteer dispatcher at the Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps for sixteen years; and most of all to his family and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street Building 9, Lawrence MA 01893.
