Gladys Tenhet Crenshaw, age 88, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born February 17, 1927 in Sledge, MS to the late Terrell and Safronhia Tenhet. Gladys was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS and a devoted mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She worked as an inspector in quality control at Baldwin Piano Company where she retired after twenty-two years of service. After retiring from Baldwin, she became the Librarian at Blackmur Memorial Library in Water Valley. Gladys enjoyed bowling, cooking, crocheting, dancing, flower gardening, and traveling.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2015 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Raymond Lewallen, Ricky Boling, Roy Bennett Stevens, Cary Hart, W. H. Odom, Jr. and Oscar Barlow serving as pallbearers.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Terry and husband, Earl McMinn of Water Valley, MS; three grandchildren, Tonya Ward Eubanks and husband, Mike; Tracy McMinn Marberry and husband, Wade; and Tammy McMinn Tedford and husband, Brad all of Water Valley, MS; five great-grandchildren, Sydney Snider, Taylor Snider, Bradley Tedford, Walker Tedford and Preston Marberry; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. “Speedy” Crenshaw; a daughter, Peggy Nell Sorrells; and a brother, Joe Tenhet.
