John R. Pitts, age 62, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born June 13, 1953 in Big Springs, TX to Madlen Roberts Pitts and the late Kenneth Ray Pitts. John was a self-employed Satellite Technician and a member of Satellite Broadcasters of America. He was a devoted husband and family man who loved life, his friends and helping others. John enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on vehicles, NASCAR and was an avid football fan.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Oakland Cemetery at Oakland, MS with Bro. Jimmy Hood officiating.
John is survived by his wife, Donna Carter Pitts of Oakland, MS; his daughter, Jennifer (Barry) Gilbreath of Hamilton, AL; his mother, Madlen Roberts Pitts of Oakland, MS; his sister, Sherry (Fred) Laredo of New Orleans, LA; his niece, Jennifer Laredo of Oakland, MS; his nephew, Chris (Loren) Campbell of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Sara Holloway and Nathan Holloway; and two great-nieces, Kaylie Campbell and McKenzie Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Ray Pitts.
