Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth A. (Melville) Smith a resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late James B. Smith, passed away at the Excel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lexington on Friday morning, September 4, 2015. She was 92 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on November 8, 1922, she was the beloved daughter of the late James and Mary (Dixon) Melville. Mrs. Smith was a former member of the Union Congregational Church of South Medford and had been a member of the Caryatids Women’s Group at the church. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Greater Boston Association for Retarded Citizens, “GBARC”. She had worked for many years as a Tea Packer for Salada Tea and had also been employed as a Lunch Mother at the Davenport School in Medford. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was the loving mother of Carol A. and her husband Stanley J. Odachowski of Wakefield, Paul D. and his wife Lisa L.Y. Smith of Quincy and the late James R. Smith. Elizabeth was the cherished grandmother of Adam, Katie, Justin, Carmen, Rachel and Alexandra and dear great-grandmother of Camryn, Kendall, Jack and Molly. Sister of the late Robert K. Melville.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
