Laconia-----Donald Joseph Bourque, 82, of Darby Drive died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Donald was born February 19, 1933 in Bedford, NH, son to the late Donat and Rose (Mailhot) Bourque. Married to Germaine Proulx, he was a lifelong farmer. He worked for Ricca Farms, mostly with poultry for many years. He then worked for Boxer adhesives in Alton and Arizona for 15 years as the plant manager. Before retiring, Don also worked at Tilton Prep School for a few years doing maintenance. Throughout his lifetime he also bought and fixed houses to resell with the help of his wife.
Don enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially birds and dogs. Farming was his way of being able to do what he loved. He also raised race horses, he never raced himself but he enjoyed raising such majestic creatures.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 43, years, Germaine(Proulx) Bourque, a daughter Debbie Ridley of Laconia, a brother, Norman Bourque and his wife Ann of Manchester, a sister, Doris Beaudoin and her husband Maurice, of Bedford; four grandchildren, Melissa Bartlett of Laconia, Shannon Bartlett of Berlin, Thomas Raymond of Allenstown and Michelle DiBernardo of Manchester; four great-grandchildren Garyann Mia, Makena, Elijah and Maebh as well as several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Robert and Roger and two sisters, Diane Wilkins and Rita Wysock.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Andre Bessette Parish-St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia NH.
Burial will be private at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester NH .
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church (in memory of Donald Bourque), 291 Union Ave Laconia, NH 03246.
