Brian J. Curtis, a longtime resident of Woburn formerly of Arlington passed away peacefully August 30, 2015 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn M. (Scaglione) Curtis and together they shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Brian was the cherished son of the late Francis and Margaret (McCabe) Curtis.
Brian was raised and educated in North Attleboro. He went on to further his education and graduated from Boston College before attending and graduating from the Washington & Lee University School of Law in Virginia. Brian worked for many years as practicing Attorney in the banking industry. For many years Brian also taught night school at the Middlesex Community College where he was the Chairperson of the night school's Paralegal Division. In his leisure time, Brian enjoyed reading, History and loved following the stock market and what was going on in the world of finance. He also loved animals and especially enjoyed spending time with his family on Cape Cod and being by the ocean.
In addition to his beloved wife, Brian is survived by his children, Michael Curtis and his wife Gizele, Lisa Grimes and her husband Jason, Jennifer Canales and her husband Matthew, Kate Bozio and her husband Michael all of Woburn. He was the loving grandfather of Yasmine and Brian Curtis, Patrick and Kelsi Grimes. Brother of Maura Jane Griffin of Woburn, Fraelean Curtis and her partner Gini Berthiaume of Medford. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, September 4th, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Thursday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Brian's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
