Robert Roy Schultze, 84, of Chula passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at his residence. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Lax Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Schultze will be laid to rest at Lax Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Lax Holiness Baptist Church.
Mr. Schultze was born September 14, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Walter Schultze and Blanche Shelley Schultze, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one grandson; one step-son; and three sisters. He was retired from the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved gardening and working in his yard and was an avid reader.
Mr. Schultze is survived by his wife, Lurene Law Schultze of Chula; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Drew Elias of Missouri and Paulette and Larry Courson of Pearson; one step-daughter and her husband, Glenda and Elton Pearman of Chula; one sister, Helen S. Blakeney of Deerfield Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
