Obituary

Tiverton, RI – I. Wallace Waite, 79, of Tiverton died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Marie I. (Jean) Waite.

He was born in Fall River, son of the late Horace and Irene (Manchester) Waite, and had resided in Tiverton, RI for most of his life. Mr. Waite was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Prior to retirement he was the owner/operator of Waite’s Garage of Tiverton and was the first fire chief in the town of Tiverton. He was a member of Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church, Tiverton.

An avid hunter and gardener, he loved to share what he grew with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing the accordion and harmonica and going to flea markets, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Including his wife, he is survived by 3 sons: John C. Waite of New York, Bryan C. Waite of Fall River and Calvin C. Waite of Tiverton; a daughter: Deborah J. Shea of Tiverton; a sister: Marilyn Farias of Tiverton; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Richard Waite, Carlton Waite and Gladys Brabant.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, May 23, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Sunday 2 – 5 P.M.

Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
