Jerry Clifton Musselwhite, 75, of Brookfield passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Brookfield Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mr. Musselwhite will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 29, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David Musselwhite, Wendell Herndon, Bruce Davis, Fred Chappell and Chuck Moore will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Tawzer, Robert Marchant, Charles Welch, Sammy Mason, Derrick Robinson, Freddie McClendon, Russell Luke and Daryl Bromlow.
Mr. Musselwhite was born June 11, 1940 in Thomasville, the son of Thomas David Musselwhite and Winnie Ruth Chappell Musselwhite, both deceased. He was retired from the State of Georgia–Georgia State Highway Patrol and had also worked at Shaw Industries. He was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the Army Reserve. He was a volunteer fireman with the Brookfield Fire Department and was an active part of the Gen-Earl Social Club. He was a loving husband and father and loved his church and church family.
Mr. Musselwhite is survived by his wife, Cherrie Ann Moore Musselwhite of Brookfield; one son, John Allen Musselwhite of Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Debra Lynn Musselwhite-Sellars of Tifton; one grandson, Bailey Thomas Sellars of Tifton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Tim and Ramona Musselwhite of Cumming and Bobby Musselwhite of Boston; and one sister, Wynell Mitchell of Boston.
