Marguerite Bennett, 92, died on August 26, 2015, in West Hartford, CT. “Peggy”, born in 1920 to Howard and Mildred Crossan, was raised in Medford, MA, where she met and married Jackson H. Bennett, and lived on Irving Street in West Medford for over 60 years.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Crossan and wife, Ann of Andover, MA, and sister, Ruth Reeder and her husband, William Reeder, of Bow, NH. She also has many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who remember her fondly for her love of the holidays and birthdays, never missing an opportunity to send a card and give a gift.
She was a life-long member of the West Medford Congregational Church, serving the church in many ways throughout her life. Even though she professed to “ hate change”, Peggy adapted beautifully to life at Country Club Heights, in Woburn, and for a time was the President of the Resident’s Council. When her health required a move to Hughes Health and Rehabilitation in West Hartford, she adapted again and fully enjoyed her two years in CT. The family is especially grateful for the fine and compassionate care she received at Hughes in the North Unit. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Beals–Geake–Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 11AM, preceded by visitation at 10am.
