Obituary

MITCHELL- Of Danvers, formerly of Chelsea, Virginia R. (Sargent) passed away after a long illness on Sunday, August 23rd at the age of 76. Wife of the late Arthur M. Mitchell. Daughter of the late Edward "Ted" and Ruth (Rudolph) Sargent. Loving mother of and sadly missed by Wayne Mitchell and his wife Christine of Fitchburg, Kevin A. Mitchell of peabody, Eric S Mitchell and his wife Lindsay of Danvers, Nicholas A. Mitchell and his wife Monica of Methuen and the late Dana M. Mitchell and Todd E. Mitchell. Also lovingly survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm Street, Everett on Monday, August 31st at 11 AM with long time family friend, the Reverend Richard Loring officiating.
A longtime Chelsea resident until moving to Danvers recently, Virginia passed away Sunday morning at the Beverly Hospital. She was a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and was involved in the local Cub Scouts, Danvers Senior Ceneter and All Saints Episcopal Church in Danvers. During her working years, Virginia was employed at J.J. Newberries on Broadway, Macy's Department store in New York City and as a switchboard operator at the Chelsea MGH. Expressions of sympathy in her name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
