Irene A. “Angie” Chase, 84 of Londonderry, NH, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in the Maple Leaf Healthcare Center, Manchester, NH. Mrs. Chase was born in Derry, NH on March 18, 1921, a daughter of the late Archie and Yvonne (Gamache) LaPorte. She was a resident of Londonderry for most of her life. Mrs. Chase was a homemaker and she enjoyed knitting afghans and crocheting, sewing and making pocket books, gardening and canning. She loved to help pick grapes at her husband's vineyard, Flag Hill Winery and Distillery, enjoyed fishing with her husband and also listening to CB and HAM radios, her radio handle was "Possum." Mrs. Chase was a Communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry, NH.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Calvin C. Chase Sr. of Londonderry, a son, Calvin Chase Jr. and his wife Linda of Dunstable, MA, three grandsons, Alan Chase and his wife Nicole of Dunstable, William Chase and his wife Victoria of Dunstable, Timothy Chase and his wife Andrea of Chelmsford, MA, a great-grandchild, Tristan James Chase of Dunstable, a sister, Imelda LeBlanc of Derry, a brother, Edmund LaPorte of Derry, and also by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 20th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial will be held at 1:00pm in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Friends may call from 6 - 8pm, Thursday, May 19th at the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
