Cheryl Jean (Gallacher) Connelly, age 66, passed away at home on August 24, 2015. She was born on August 20, 1949 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Dennis J. and Irene (Mendrala) Gallacher. Cheryl enjoyed a career in the medical field, working as a medical assistant for local doctors until she retired. She leaves her loving husband of many years, Patrick J. Connelly of Chicopee, her beloved daughter, Gwen Currier and her husband David, her cherished grandchildren Liam, Ryan and Aubrey of Charlestown, RI. She also leaves her stepson, Sean Connelly, his wife Leann and their son, Sean Jr of KY. She leaves her devoted cousin Gail McCreanor, sister-in-law Ellen Gallacher, several nieces, nephews, family and close friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Dennis Gallacher Jr. and her loyal brother, Richard A. Gallacher who passed away recently. Cheryl lived a simple life. She loved her dogs, Dylan and Dexter, and enjoyed going to flea markets and watching ball games on TV with Pat. She loved to cook and was known for her potato salad and her stuffing at Thanksgiving. Most of all she loved visiting Rhode Island and spending quality time with her grandchildren who brought her joy and delight. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 12-2 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA, with a Memorial Service to start at 2 pm. Burial will be private.
