Doris Ann (Baldwin) Pickett, 87, of Alexandria went to be with the Lord August 24, 2015 at Community Hospital.
She was born on January 4, 1928 in Iowa City, Iowa to Arthur B. and Clarice (Hamilton) Baldwin.
She was a former secretary at Bethany Christian Church and New Hope Christian Church and a Civil Service Employee of the U.S. Navy.
She was an active member at Alexandria Church of the Nazarene where she was instrumental in starting a library. Doris also enjoyed bowling, ceramics, genealogy, family get-togethers and camping trips.
Survivors include her four sons, Robert (Mary Jo) Pickett of Lafayette, IN; Dale (companion Mary Clark) Pickett of Anderson, Duane (Sue) Pickett of Alexandria and Jeffrey (Janine) Pickett of Markleville,
six grandsons, Ben (Melissa) Pickett of Honolulu, Hawaii; Robert (fiancée, Melanie Robinson) Pickett of Ohio; Christopher Pickett of Indianapolis; David Pickett, Adam (Kaitlin) Pickett of Wesley Chapel, FL; Dustin (Emily) Pickett of Louisville, KY; five granddaughters, Dawn Smith (Jeff Gregory) of Lafayette, Jennifer Pickett (fiancée, Justin Barrett) of Indianapolis, IN; Lynnsey (Greg) Payton of Alexandria; Katie (Jonathon) Myers of Decatur, GA; Brittny Pickett of Anderson; five great grandsons, Riley Pickett of Hawaii; River Pickett of Louisville, KY; Liam Payton of Alexandria; Sloan Myers of Decatur, GA; and Koa Pickett of Louisville, KY. Five great granddaughters, Sophia Gregory of Lafayette; Chloe Pickett of Hawaii; Jozlyn Payton of Alexandria; Karmin Streaty of Anderson and Juniper Pickett of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert L. Pickett whom she married September 3, 1949 in Hollywood, MD.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Diemer of Alexandria Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
