FEEDING HILLS (AGAWAM), MA - Paul Philip Chartier, age 54, a Veteran and member of a well known former Tewksbury family, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, August 23, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Suffield, Connecticut. He died doing what he loved to do, touring on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He was born in Lowell, MA, January 1961, one of eight children of the late Lord Paul and Josephine (Robins) Chartier, and was also the stepson of the late Marie (Hand) Chartier. He was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury Memorial High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Army, and proudly served as a Ranger Paratrooper. He was a respected Master Carpenter, and had recently joined the Springfield Carpenter’s Union. Paul was remembered as the brother and friend who was “always there” to anyone in need. He enjoyed sky diving, snow skiing, and long rides on his Harley. He was also unable to contain his pride in his children, and loved to brag about their exploits and accomplishments.
He leaves his daughter, Lauren Chartier, and her fiancé Joseph Jansen-Hedrick of Greely, CO; a son, Justin Lord Chartier of Chicopee, MA; his siblings, Paula and her husband Robert Weber of Atkinson, NH, Robin Chartier and his fiancée Colleen Platt of Merrimac, MA, Cynthia and her husband Arthur Alexander of Hampton Falls, NH, Josephine Trager of Portsmouth, NH, and Dr. Sandra and her husband Dr. Ron Cereola of Harrisonburg, VA; his late wife Donna (Moy) Chartier of Agawam; numerous nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his siblings, Debra Bergin, David K. Chartier, Ann Marie Hand; and sister-in-law, Robin’s late wife, Hideko Chartier.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, August 27, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Knights Of Columbus Hall, 2068 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.
