Gerald F. "Jerry" McIntosh, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was nearly 80 years old.
Jerry was born in Boston on August 31, 1935, a son of the late William H. McIntosh and Nellie (Hanlon) McIntosh. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Jerry worked in communications for the Boston Police Department for 32 years. He was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.
Jerry is the beloved husband of the late Ellen (O'Brien) McIntosh. He is the devoted father of Annemarie Chaisson of Great Falls, MT., William McIntosh III and his wife Susan of Broken Arrow, OK., Susan McIntosh of Charlestown, Gerald F. McIntosh Jr. of Charlestown, Ellen Fullam and her husband Daniel of Braintree, and Robert McIntosh of Charlestown. He is the loving Gramps to 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is the dear brother to Marguerite Hitchcock, and the late Helen Sheldon, Carol Hoag, and William McIntosh II. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jerry's Funeral on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
