Sonja Gibbs Bridge, 47, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, August 21, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Big Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Ms. Bridge was born October 9, 1967, in Monticello, Georgia, to Kip Greene Gibbs Eldridge and the late James Frank “Jim” Gibbs, Jr. A 1985 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Sonja enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Kitchen. She was a generous spirit who opened her home and her heart to those needing assistance. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law: Spenser Patrick Bridge & Amanda of Mystic and Sterling James Bridge of Ocilla; grandchildren: Logan Kyle Harper, Landon Alan Bridge, and Lucas Patrick Bridge; mother and step-father, Kip & Jack Eldridge of Mystic; her siblings and their spouses: James Frank Gibbs, III & Tina of Jacksonville, FL, Peggy Gibbs Tanner & Roger of Jacksonville, FL, Denise E. Mooney of Fitzgerald, Greg Eldridge of Carrabelle, FL, and Machelle E. Scheer & Stuart of Savannah as well as several nieces and nephews.
