Ethel M. Chace
Ethel Marie Chace (67) of Tewksbury, MA passed away peacefully on August 14, 2015 while surrounded by family. She is survived by her eldest daughter, Bronwyn Chace of Oakton, VA; son, Adam Chace of Upton, MA; daughter, Elizabeth Gershman of Reading, MA, and youngest daughter, Jessica Scott of Salem, MA.
Memorial services will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury.
Born in San Francisco, CA in 1948, Ethel was the daughter of the late Marie Whittlesey and the late Roger “Pete” L. Whittlesey, and sister of Roger L. Whittlesey, Jr. of Tewksbury, MA.
Ethel moved with her family to Northbridge, MA in 1953 where she attended Northbridge High School and went on to study at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Later, she earned two Masters degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
Ethel’s greatest joy in life was raising and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was also a dedicated school teacher, having taught for over 27 years in the Tewksbury and Haverhill public schools systems.
Ethel loved her pets, reading novels, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Mother of four, she was also the grandmother of ten (with one on the way).
They are Lilah, Bayan, Adam and Zidan Elhady; Jackson, Mallory, Gavin and Jude Chace; Charlotte Gershman and Camden Scott.
She was a woman of remarkable courage and will be remembered for her eternal selflessness and generosity.
