Elyse McDonald Segraves, 92, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A. M., Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Kelly Brown and Lois McCord officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, from 7:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Segraves was born November 7, 1912, in Turner County, Georgia to the late Ruel Jack and Cordelle Pate Gorday. A homemaker, she lived in Fitzgerald most of her life and was a graduate of Turner County High School. Mrs. Segraves was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was co-founder of the Floraculture Garden Club and an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Segraves is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Meriam McDonald and R.H. “Bud” Hammond, Jr. of Miami Lakes, FL; grandson and wife: Richard H. and Lisa Hammond, III of Charlotte, NC; great-granddaughter: Lindsay Elyse Hammond of Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. Willis McDonald and Owen Segraves, five sisters and one brother.
