JAMES E. HAYWARD, SR., age 89, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died on Sunday, May 15th at the Weymouth Health Care Center. Mr. Hayward was born in Hingham and attended Hingham schools. He was well known in the South Shore area as the owner of Hayward Fuel Oil Co., a family business started by his father many years ago. He was a member of the Weymouth Eagles and the Weymouth Bowling League. Mr. Hayward loved blues music and was often seen at the Sea-Note in Hull.
He was the husband of the late Clara S. (Hayden) Hayward, and father of James E. Hayward, Jr. of Silver Lake, NH and Paula J. Heger of Richfield, MN. Uncle of Jane Coyne of Naples, FL. Grandfather of Lisa, Michele, Jimmy, Deb, Bob and Bill. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 19th at 11 AM at the Church of the Holy Nativity, 8 Nevin Rd., So. Weymouth.
Visiting hours at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

The interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
