Marietta (Ruhl) Driscoll, of Medford, died Friday at the John Scott Nursing Home in Braintree. She was 84.
Mrs. Driscoll was raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late Henry and the late Mary (Fidalgo) Ruhl. A long-time Medford resident, Marietta worked for the Registry of Motor Vehicles. After her retirement she was active with the Medford Senior Citizens Club.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Driscoll. She was a devoted mother to John Driscoll and his wife Carol of Melrose, Carol Sullivan of Maynard, Jean Archibald of Hingham, William Driscoll and his wife Mary of Stoneham, James Driscoll and his wife Catherine of Tewksbury, Kevin Driscoll of Medford, Marilyn Buckley and her husband Michael of Quincy, and the late Margaret Kardon. She was the dear mother in law of Mel Kardon. She is lovingly survived by many grandchildren and great-granchildren. She was the sister of the late Henrietta Mezzatesta.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit Monday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
