Alfred J. Cella, age 57, of Medford formerly of West Wareham, passed away suddenly, May 13th at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Ferrerio). Born in Boston he was the son of the late Dorothy (Alessio) and Charles Cella Sr.
Mr. Cella was raised and educated in Medford. He was a retired self employed painting contractor. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing in the state of Maine. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and gardening. He was an avid bowler and belonged to the Good Times Bowling league in Somerville and the Summer Splash Bowling league in Malden.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his daughter Kimberly Hale of Arlington and his stepdaughter Michelle Balas of Hingham. He was the loving grandfather of Steven Blevins, Hannah Hale and Taylor Winslow. He is also survived by his brother Charles Cella Jr. of Malden and sisters, Sandra Scutellaro of Somerville and Jean Pacheco of Malden. He is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church 79 Warner St. Medford/Somerville at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
