Mr. John Liotine, age 77, of Arlington formerly of Winthrop, passed away May 11th at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie (Catapano). Born in Boston he was the son of the late Mary (Simone) and Vincent James Liotine.
Mr. Liotine was the former owner and operator of Jimmy´s Lobster Co. which was located on Commercial St. in Boston´s North End. The company had been in operation for over fifty years. John was extremely devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all the neighborhood children who affectionately called him “papa”.
John was also a very handy person and enjoyed carpentry work. He loved dining out and having a good cigar. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and was also a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children; John J. Liotine of Orlando, FL, Donna M. Colliton of Stoneham, Paul Liotine of Winchester and Gina Fallon of Arlington. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Catherine Anderson of Winthrop, Anna Staff of Winthrop, and Toni Auciello of Hopkinton. John is preceded in death by his brother Vincent Liotine.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Monday, at 11 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Eulalia Church 55 Ridge St. Winchester, at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
