RUTLAND-Chester D. Rawlston, 64 of 9 Kosta Aveue and Lakeland, FL died Saturday, May 4th in Tampa General Hospital after complications from surgery. He leaves his wife of 18 years, Bernice J. (Gauvin) Rawlston; 2 sons, Chester D. Rawlston of Cherry Valley and Joseph W. Rawlston of Worcester; 3 daughters, Cindy-Lee Rawlston, Lorna Johnson and Peggy Rawlston all of Worcester; his mother Margaret C. (Shea) Rawlston of Lakeland, FL; 2 brothers, Richard Rawlston of Worcester and Daniel Rawlston of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Judith Liseno of Webster; 2 step-sons, Gregory Fair in Texas and Steven Fair in Virginia; a step-daughter, Tina Rosenlund of Worcester; 9 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers, Timothy Rawlston and William Rawlston both predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Chester D. and Margaret C. (Shea) Rawlston. Mr. Rawlston was employed as truck driver for Lyons Distributors for 19 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Local 170 Teamsters and was a former member of the English Social Club. He was an avid collector of baseball cards, coins and Superman comic books.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 11th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in The Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, May 10th from 6:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
