Roberta Beasley Goodman, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 15, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Elder Maurice Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 until 9, Saturday evening.
Mrs. Goodman was born July 30, 1916, in Elbert County, Georgia to the late W.M. and Meanda Lunsford Beasley. She grew up in Dewey Rose, Georgia and moved to Fitzgerald in 1946. Mrs. Goodman was the bookkeeper for Goodman Welding Shop for over fifty years. She was a member of the Fitzgerald Church Of Christ.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years: James E. Goodman of Fitzgerald; two sons and daughters-in-law: Eddie and Evie Mae Goodman and Ronnie and Vivian Goodman, all of Fitzgerald; daughter-in-law: Mary Jane Goodman of Ocilla; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Hester Beasley of Royston, Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Goodman, one sister and two brothers.
