WORCESTER___Stephen V. Walinsky, Sr., 87, of 56 Kenberma Rd., died Wednesday May 11 at home. His wife of 65 years, Anna M. (Zaparaskas) Walinsky died February 8.
He leaves two sons, Stephen V. Walinsky, Jr., of Millbury and Ronald S. Walinsky of Worcester; three grandchildren, Tara Prentiss, Lynne Jalbert and Mark Walinsky; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Rebecca and Nathan and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, John, Peter, Anthony, Julia and Marcella. He was born in Worcester, son of Anthony and Amelia (Turevicius) Walinsky and lived here all his life.
Mr. Walinsky was a printer and later the printing dept. foreman many years for Sheppard Envelope Co. and retired several years ago. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School.
He was a member, lector, usher and choir member of St. Casimir Church and was also a member and past president of the St. Casimir Mens Club. Many years ago he was a parish council member. He was a member, current recording secretary and past president of the Lithuanian Naturalization & Social Club, he was also a member of Knights of Lithuania, Council 26, member and a past board director of the Lithuanian Charitable Society, past president of the rear echelon of the Lithuanian War Veterans and past chairman of bingo at St. Casimir Church. Stephen enjoyed outdoor activities, woodcarving and writing childrens stories.
The funeral will be held on Monday May 16 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. Members of Council 26, Knights of Lithuania will meet at 5 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir Church Renovation Fund, 41 Providence St., Worcester, 01604
