Elmer F. Parker Jr.
...Veteran of two wars; USMC and USAF 72
TEWKSBURY - Elmer F. Parker Jr., age 72, a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars,
died Tuesday evening, May 10, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell following a brief
illness.
He was born in Everett, January 31, 1933, a son of Anna (Drysdale-Parker) Myrtle of Wilmington
and the late Elmer F. Parker Sr. He had lived in Wilmington and Tewksbury the greater part of
his life.
He enlisted into the USMC during the Korean War, and rejoined the USAF during the Vietnam
War. He was also Past Commander of the Tewksbury V.F.W. Post 8164.
He worked as a brakeman for the Boston and Main Railroad, and later as a truck driver for Joe
Barry’s Oil Company in Wilmington.
He was an active member of the Tewksbury Wilmington Elks Lodge.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers; Harry Parker of Haverhill and Douglas Parker
of Tewksbury; a sister and brother-in-law, Natalie Duggan and her husband Thomas of
Wilmington; a step brother, Everett Stanley and his wife Donna of Wilmington; a step-sister,
Alice Stanley of Lanesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday morning, May 16, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
in the funeral home. Prayers will be offered Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the
funeral home, followed by Interment in the Elks Lot at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorials to the Tewks-Wilm Elks Lodge, P.O. Box 128, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be
appreciated.
