WEBSTER - Mary C. Bartkiewicz, 92, formerly of Slater Street, died Tuesday, May 10 in Oakwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She leaves two sisters, Nellie Kondek of Webster and Rose M. Manyak of Douglas; nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Joseph and Frank Bartkiewicz, and by two sisters, Josephine Bartkiewicz and Sophie Kondek.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Martin and Caroline (Grzych) Bartkiewicz, and lived here all her life.
She first worked as a weaver at Cluett Peabody in North Grosvenordale, CT. She then braided rugs for the Herideen Company. She was a repairer at Bentley Shoe. She was an inspector at Cranston Print Works Company, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She enjoyed crocheting.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 13, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Minor Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 8:15 to 9:15 Friday morning at the funeral home.
