NEW BEDFORD - Francisca Carolina Fortes, 94, of 16 Warren St., died Thursday, May 5th at her home with her family by her side. She was the husband of the late Joaquim S. Fortes. She leaves a daughter, Maria G. Bolwell of New Bedford, two sons, Mario F. Tome & Leonel F. Fortes both of New Bedford. She was the mother of the late Daniel & Oswald Fortes and sister of the late Antonio Lima Fortes & Maria Oliveira.
Born in Santo Antao, Cabo Verde, she was the daughter of the late Marcos M. Fortes and the late Carolina (Lima) Fortes. She was a resident of New Bedford for 20 years, where she was a housewife.
