WORCESTER___Marion T. (Larkin) Caplette, 76, of 27 Mt. Vernon St., formerly of 15 Bowker St., died Saturday May 7 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband of 47 years, Lawrence J. “Kiyi” Caplette died in 1996.
She leaves two sons, James J. Caplette of Lynn; and John L. Caplette of Joplin, Mo; two daughters, Ellen A. Kiwak of Oxford and Anne Marie Wilson of Dudley; a step daughter, Doreen D. Gosler of Venice, Fl; three brothers, John P. Larkin of Worcester; Joseph H. Larkin of Boylston and Thomas F. Larkin of Nashville, Tn; two sisters, Margaret Larkin of Waco, Tx; and Catherine Armendo of Scottsdale, Az; four grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. A brother, Michael J. Larkin, Jr., of Worcester died in 1989. Marion was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael J. and Marion T. (Keniry) Larkin and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Caplette was a licensed nursing home administrator for several years at Spring Valley Nursing Home and ten years at Blaire House. She retired from Spring Valley in 1994. She also worked as a registered nurse at both nursing homes. Marion was graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1968 and from Clark University in 1973.
Mrs. Caplette was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and was a 46 year member and past president of Grafton Hill Post 323 American Legion Auxiliary.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 11 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday May 10 from 5 to 8 p.m.
