Barbara L. (Crowding) Crago, 82, of Medway, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Medway Country Manor. She was the beloved wife of Jean Paul Crago who died in 1978.
Born in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lynn and Catherine (Fredericks) Crowding.
Mrs. Crago was a longtime resident of Greenfield until moving to Franklin and then Medway where she resided for the past nine years.
Mrs. Crago earned a Master’s Degree from the Juilliard School in New York City. She was an accomplished violist and served as president of the Pioneer Valley Symphony for 2 years.
She taught piano in her home for many years and had served on the Greenfield School Committee.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Francis Crago and Jeffrey Lynn Crago, both of Wayland, a sister Catherine Cole and her husband Daniel of Chicago, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Jake Brubaker.
Her funeral services are private at the request of her family.
