Robert Emory “Bob” Morris, 49, of Woodstock, Georgia, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held, 2 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Harvey Cash officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 PM, prior to the graveside service, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Morris was born March 16, 1966, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Norma Strickland Morris and the late Donald Lamar Morris. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1985 and later attended Southern Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. He worked for several years with Brassfield & Gorrie and later, in the Atlanta area for SEI as a land surveyor and was a resident of Woodstock. Mr. Morris enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles; and was an avid gardener, and the Atlanta Audubon Society, named his garden, “Morris Gardens”.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years: Jessica Lynn Zajac Morris of Woodstock; children: Jared Morris of Woodstock, Jordan Morris of Birmingham, Alabama and Terren Piotrowski of Woodstock; his mother, Norma Strickland Morris of Fitzgerald; a brother: Don Morris and his wife Kay of Fitzgerald; a sister: Ann M. Lewis and her husband Ted of Shelbyville, Tennessee; mother-in-law: Yvonne Zajac of Woodstock and a sister-in-law: Jan Woods Morris of Americus. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Carl Morris.
