Thomas D. Boyden, 76, of Hooksett, NH passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Inn at Deerfield in Deerfield, NH. He was the son of the late Thomas H. and Myrabel (Condon) Boyden. Tom proudly served his country with the US Navy. He was employed as a Customer Engineer for IBM for 33 years. He was a founding member of the Londonderry Fire Department. Tom was active in the Hooksett Congregational Church where he served on the Board of Deacons. A kind and caring family man with a droll sense of humor, Tom loved summers on Cow Island from the days of the tent to the full-fledged cottage, minus indoor plumbing and phone.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Linda (Briggs) Boyden of Hooksett, one daughter, Jillian Autry and husband Nicholas of Danielsville, GA; one son, Jeffrey Boyden of Albany, IN; two grandchildren, Blake Boyden and Owen Autry; two sisters, Nancy Shepard of Kingston, and Judi Wishart and husband William of Concord; niece Tami St. James and husband Kevin of Kingston; nephew, Richard Shepard and wife Laurie of Contoocook. He also leaves members his wife’s family, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Susan Wallace and husband Alfred of Londonderry, Daniel Briggs and wife Meredith of Deerfield, Barclay Briggs and wife Minerva of Middletown, NY, Cherie Sanborn and husband Charles of Deerfield, William Briggs and wife Suzanne of Chichester, NH, and Gregory Briggs of Seattle, WA; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 7 – 9 pm at the Hooksett Congregational Church, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett, NH. Funeral services were held on Monday August 10th at 11:00 am in the Church. A private graveside service was in the Briggs Family Cemetery, Deerfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 S. River Road #210, Bedford, NH 03110; or in Tom’s memory, please consider making a difference in someone else’s life. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Inn at Deerfield and the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association for their professional and heartfelt care.
