Lewis E. Stamm, 78, of Anderson died on Aug. 4, 2015 after a brief illness.
Lewis loved his children and family very much. He spent his last years ensuring his children were cared for while maintaining the close ties he had with his siblings and extended family. A man of many different facets, he will be best remembered for his quick wit, love of laughter and zest for life.
He was born in Anderson on September 5, 1936 to Floyd and Gertrude (Richards) Stamm.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Retired from the Madison County Garage, a job he truly enjoyed. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and was a Democratic Precinct Committee Member in Madison County. He also had an active role in several different civic organizations. He attended Faith Assembly of God on 53rd Street in Anderson.
Survivors include his children, Roger (Fabiola) Stamm; Bonnie Draga, grandkids, Ana, Seth Wilkinson, Sarah Wilkinson, Emma Draga; siblings Orville (June) Stamm, Virgil (Helen) Stamm; Dorothy (Jim) Farmer; and Doris (John) Kane many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Neighbors) Stamm, parents, siblings Naomi (Robert) Vickers, Iona Stamm, Floyd (Hazel) Stamm, Jr., Glenn (Maralene) Stamm, Norman Stamm,
Verle Stamm, brother-in-law, Kenneth Nelson, several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins..
Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
