
BEVERLY: Lois (Frenz) Purdy died peacefully August 4, 2015 on a beautiful summer morning in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She was 80 years old.
The daughter of the late Dorothea Charlotte and Louis Peter Frenz, she was born in Queens, New York. She grew up on Long Island and was a graduate of Freeport High School. After attending college in West Virginia, Lois resided in Pennsylvania where she raised her young family.
Lois lived the remainder of her years in Peabody and Beverly Massachusetts. She served for many years at the Mass Department of Employment and Training and was a job counselor at Beverly High School. In her retirement, Lois further cultivated her love of art, travel, music, animals and the New England Coast.
She will live on in the hearts of her children, Susan and Christopher, her granddaughter, Brenna Kathryn and her faithful cat Gracie, all of Beverly.
Private services for the family on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit Maine are planned. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to donate to Lois’ favorite charities, Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem MA 01970 or the Marginal Way Preservation Fund, PO Box 1455, Ogunquit, ME 03907.
