It is with great sadness that
we announce the loss of our
beloved Robert. On Saturday
August 1st, 2015, the Lord
suddenly called him home.
Robert was born in Santa
Paula, CA on July 16, 1946,
to Raymond and Lupe
Medrano. He grew up in Santa
Paula and in 1988 moved to Ventura, CA. Robert retired
from the city of Ventura after 25 years of service.
He was a lifelong car enthusiast. He had been a member
of many local lowrider and Rat Rod car clubs over the
years, of which he made many friends. You could
always find a classic car in his garage. The latest, being
his pride and joy, was a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria.
In 1988 Robert met and married the love of his life,
Roberta. Roberta always said that God blessed her the
day Robert walked into her life. They shared a passion
for their love of God, classic cars, and Harley Davidson
motorcycles. In the 27 years they were married, they
rarely spent a night apart.
One exception was when Robert and his cousins rode
their Harley Davidsons all the way from Santa Paula to
Washington D.C. for the Run to the Vietnam Wall annual
Memorial Day run. It was one of his lifelong dreams to
ride across the United States. You could always spot
Robert on his bike by his trademark silver goatee.
Another of his favorite past times was camping in his
RV. He enjoyed many memorable camping trips with his
family.
Robert and Roberta were dedicated members of the San
Buenaventura Mission, along with their grandson Alec,
whom they raised. As a couple, they loved their ministry
of taking Holy Communion to the homebound, amongst
other ministries they participated in. He had a special
place in his heart for the San Buenaventura Mission and
his church family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his
baby brother, Ernie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; brother
Raymond (Kathy) Medrano; son Robert Medrano Jr.;
daughters Monique Foster and Veronica Frazier; nine
grandchildren; many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and
cousins; and his beloved black lab, Coco.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday evening, August 6, 2015 at 5:30
PM, with Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, at the San
Buenaventura Mission. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Friday, August 7 at 10:00 AM at the San
Buenaventura Mission, 211 East Main Street. Burial will
follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
